Friday Night Rod and Tackle Sweethope Boat League 2026

We are very excited to announce that we are introducing the boat league again for 2026.

This league will take place over eight consecutive weeks and will be run as friendly and social competitions, with the sponsors of the league kindly donating top prizes.

Participants have to take part in 4 out of the 8 weeks that the league runs for, so as to gain placing points for the final league table.

The boat league is a non-serious competition aimed at introducing young or inexperienced anglers into loch style / boat fishing. You will be placed in a boat with an experienced angler where you can learn techniques and boat handling. We have English, Scottish and Welsh internationals taking part. It is run pretty much as an “open fly box competition” where top anglers are willing to show and share patterns with the young and new anglers.

All are welcome, so why don’t you come along and get some good hints and tips from some top loch style anglers.

The league has been very kindly sponsored by Rod & Tackle and commences on Friday 8th May. Start time 5.30pm until 9.30pm. This league will be run on a 4 hour, catch and release ticket.

Boat partners will be drawn on the evening, with a timed first fish.

We are delighted and grateful to be working alongside our sponsors at Rod & Tackle, Cramlington.

If you are interested in taking part in any of these leagues, please get in touch with Lisa 07852515350. As always, thank you for your continued support.
