Sweethope Lough is a special place which provides everyone with the opportunity to share some truly magnificent fishing in an equally magnificent environment.
It also brings people together from all walks of life, that would otherwise never meet. It's truly amazing how friendships are formed after a only brief meet on the water with a single shared goal, and that can often last a lifetime.
However the key to a great day out for all is a knowledge and respect of a few simple rules:
- ALWAYS take all litter home with you - particularly monofilament line which can harm our resident colony of swans. Please, please, please take care!
- Please be careful where you park your car. Sweethope is fortunate in having great vehicular access to the water and is well served with convenient car parking. However, be aware that other anglers (some of which may be less able than yourself) need to park and have access to their cars too.
- NEVER crowd a fellow angler ! It's bad manners, dangerous and unnecessary
- If asked to finish fishing at a certain beat at a certain time, please observe these times.
- PLEASE observe the bag limit of your chosen permit - taking fish above your bag limit is theft and creates bad feeling between anglers and the staff.
Just a few simple, common sense points that will make your visit to Sweethope a pleasure for you and your fellow anglers.
